Lee "Monty" Montgomery Cloyd
NEW BERLIN - Lee "Monty" Montgomery Cloyd, 69, of New Berlin, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on April 25, 1942, in Springfield, to Lee O. and Hope Montgomery Cloyd, who preceded him in death. Mr. Cloyd graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1960 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He served in the Illinois National Guard, from 1960-1962, 4th Battalion, 20th Regiment. Monty married Reba Clark on September 27, 1973.
Monty was an Operating Engineer for Local 965 for 25 years and a Stationary Engineer for Local 399 at the Illinois State Library. He belonged to the Masonic Central Lodge #71, AF&AM, Ansar Legion of Honor, 32nd Degree Mason, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory and the Blue Lodge.
Monty is survived by his wife, Reba, daughters, Stacey (Joe) Littlejohn of Auburn and Anita Edge of Springfield; grandchildren Bethany, Sophia and Madison Littlejohn all of Auburn; brother-in-law, Ted (Nancy) Clark of Sherman, sister-in-law, Lenny Fischer of Peoria, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: His family will greet friends from 4-7pm, Thursday, June 30, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham.
Masonic Services will be conducted at 6pm, Thursday.
Funeral: 11am, Friday, July 1, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham, with Reverend George Cowper officiating. Burial will follow at Old Chatham Cemetery.
