Hello Dave,
On the 1841 census all ages over 15 are rounded down to the nearest 5 or 0 so someone aged 19 would appear as 15.
On the 1881 census William and Elizabeth are still alive living at the Smithy, North Rode withtheir son Thomas aged 40 and grandson Edwin aged 10, both William and Elizabeth are aged 66 and it has their place of birth as Sutton.
Now the good news although not related on William' side if your Elizabeth is the daughter of Thomas and Sarah we are related on that side. My 3x great-grandfather Edward is Elizabeth's younger brother. Their parents were Thomas Clowes and Sarah Rigby, marriage 27 Jan 1812, St. Peter, Prestbury, Cheshire.Thomas was born Buglawton c.1787, haven't done any research on him baptism not on IGI.Sarah Rigby was born North Rode c.1792, no research on her baptism either yet.Thomas died 16 May 1873 Booth Lane, Moston, Sarah died 11 May 1872 Booth Lane Moston.
