Douglas William Clough

Feb. 5,1933 - July 27,2007
Douglas William Clough was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Happy Camp, Calif., to Norman Leroy Clough and Ila Mae Davenport and passed away July 27, 2007.
Doug grew up in Ferndale, Calif. He achieved an Eagle Scout award in 1949, graduated Ferndale high School in 1950 and then attended Humboldt State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until he was honorably discharged in 1952 and went on to attend Oregon State University.
Doug moved to southern California in his 20s where he met and married Donna Buell. They settled in Tustin, Calif where they raised their two children and an assortment of pets. He and Donna moved to Pollock Pines in 1979 where he designed and built the current family home. He ran his Electronic Rep business, D. Clough Associates, for more than 20 years out of his home as well as he and his son's DOC's Bullet Works business until he retired in 2003, when he joined the El Dorado County Grand Jury as a member. He became the foreman of the Grand Jury in the 2005-2006 session.
Doug was very active in the American Jeepster Club, Pollock Pines Community Center, SIRs of Pollock Pines and a member of the elite Brown Baggers. His hobbies and favorite pastimes were being a private pilot, woodcrafting, fly fishing and fly tying. He was also a gun enthusiast and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. '
Doug is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Dane (Kimberly); daughter, Doane (Carl); grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin), Mitchell and Jonathan; great-granddaughter, Madison; nephews, Casey (Tess) and Corey (Nicole); and his niece Caryn.
Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. at Chapel of the Pines, located at 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville, Calif. In lieu of flowers the family wishes you to make a donation in his name to the charity of your choice
