Hello Margot,
The Reuben Close you mention is my 5th Great Grand Uncle. I have his dtr as Meriam Close, born 3 Feb 1750/51, Duchess, NY. Reuben's wife, Meriam's mother, is listed as Phebe Hoag born 1721 Montgomery NY. Reuben & Phebe were married 1746 in Duchess, according to records I have found.
All my info comes from other trees & documents from online....nothing I myself have verified, but perhaps this is a good place to start....?
