I have just started my search for Close's Candy Factory. However, in all of my searching; the only Close Candy Company I have found is located in Cambridge, Mass.

There are stories that somehow my father's side is related to the Closes that created the company.

Here is the information that I can remember off the top of my head....

- The name is Close's Candy and is also known as
The George Close Company.

-It was started by George Close. He was born in England.

-His two sons were involved. Their names were: George E. Close and Frank D. Close.

-The original factory burned to the ground. George Sr. rebuilt the company at 243-249 Broadway; Cambridge, Mass.

If you want a biography of George Close Sr. go to google.com and type in "George E Close" (quotes included)
You will find a bunch of interesting links. Some having to do with the Closes in question and some not so much. The link you want is entitled "A History of Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1630-1913 - Google Books Result"

I hope this is what you are looking for. If not, maybe it can help someone else.
