I have hit a brick wall on my most distant ancestors, Reuben & "D" Cloos. I find them on the 1790 Census for Montgomery County MohawkTown, NY. I do not know the real name of "D" nor her maiden name. They had 2 boys; Newbury (1772) and Abel (1777) and 3 girls. The girls were Hannah (1774), Sarah (1782?) and one other that I have not been able to identify. According to the HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF NORTHEAST, DUTCHESS COUNTY, NY, Reuben is mentioned as one of the original members of the Baptist Church in Millerton, NY. Reuben & "D" moved to Tioga County, PA about 1807, where they died in 1826. Newbury & Abel also moved to Tioga Co. Hannah is found as the wife of Daniel Temple and comes to Tioga Co., PA also. I think Sarah becomes the wife of Barnard Temple and they settle in Middlefield, Otsego, NY. Can anyone add any information for any of these ancestors of mine? I descend from Newbury (1772); Reuben (1798); Newbury,3rd (1830); Burton (1876) to Harlow (1912). Please contact me at cmeabon@ec.rr.com Thank you.
