John Clinton, Dublin, 1809

I've hit the wall with my ggg grandfather, John Clinton born in Dublin, November 2, 1809. I know he had two brothers, William, born Jan. 14, 1806 and Robert, born Aug. 9th, 1807. John came to London and became a Professor of Music, teaching at the Royal Academy of Music, William married Julia and lived at Newcomen Terrace in Dublin. Of Robert I have nothing at all. I think the father was also called John but cannot find absolute proof. As he could afford to send John to England and William to Trinity College I assume he might have been a Merchant. I've visited Dublin recently but still cannot find the evidence which will nail him. Can anyone out there please help?
