Hello,
Here are four Clinkscales who served in Co.”I”, “Palmetto Sharp-Shooters”, South Carolina Volunteers(Infantry). I was looking through the book, “The Appomattox Roster”, which is the complete list of all who surrendered with Robert E. Lee at Appomattox, Court House, Va., in 1865. While searching for my own ancesters in the “Palmetto Sharp-Shooters”, S.C. Vols.(Infantry), C.S.A., and I came across the four Clinkscales listed, and thought some of you Clinkscales might be interested. Here they are:
Co.”I”, “Palmetto Sharp-Shooters”, S.C. Vols, C.S.A.;
1. 1st Corporal J.F.Clinkscales
2. Private B.T. Clinkscales
3. Private R.M. Clinkscales
4. Private R.L. Clinkscales
I hope some of y’all found this of some help or interest.
Take care,
hope this helps:
Dave
