Hello, Since I posted the above item, I have found out that John was the son of Adonijah and Maria Clingan of Trumbull County. His family all moved to Missouri and then on to Elk City Kansas but he remained in Ohio. He was a antrepenuer and had his hand into a lots of pots. He made several trips to the west to visit his family, making the acquaintance of Frank and Jesse James and it is said that he actually became ingulfed in some shady deals while out there and had to flee back to the safty of Ohio. More can be learned about him through the book, "The Clingan Chronacles" By Clingan Jackson. If there are any out there who could tell me more, I would love to hear from you.
