Not sure if this will help..My grandfather was a John Cline..not sure where he came from but lived in Minneapolis Kansas when I was a child..I am 63..he was married to Harriet..dont know maiden name..had two sons..Elvane Ellis (deceased) and Wayne (deceased)..the only thing I can share is that he passed away at the age of 75 about 1957 or 58...he was a mountain of a man..not heavy..just big..with unusual eyes..I have those eyes and some of my cousins also..
He was artistic and was a farmer..and both boys were mechanical..my father was a actuary and self taught...very technical and invented several things..which Bendix still uses..
