Andrew, at present, I am researching Cline's in Kentucky. I have some extensive knowledge on three lines that are found in your state. All of the older families, those who were in the early pioneer days, have been of German descent. My direct line is Nicholas Cline/Klein of Wythe County, Virginia. I also am working on Martin Cline/Klein who settled in Sumner County, Tennessee and his children in Allen County, Kentucky. The third line is the Tug river Cline's, of eastern Kentucky. The only time that I find members of these families with the mis-spelling of Clyne or Kline is when the recordkeeper was English or Scottish.
