Susan, I can't help but think we have a connection. My gggrandfather was also named Anthony cline, b. ca. 1820 and possible in Portage Co., though I am unsure. He married Wealthy Ann Tibbles 12 August, 1849 in Portage Co. Their children: Jacob, Charlotte, Mary, Phillip, Tursey, and Daniel, my ggrandfather. Daniel was born 07 July, 1854 in Ravenna, Portage Co. and married my ggrandmother, Eliza Jane Palmer 31 Aug., 1887 at Oregon (we think). I was told by my grandmother (Orpha Jane cline, b. 20 Oct., 1891) that the family went down the Ohio River to the Mississippi and down to New Orleans and around the horn by ship to Oregon. I have also been told that they lived in PA with the Pennsylvania Dutch after landing in Philadelphia. Their trip from Europe brought them through The Netherlands,I don't know from where, but I am assuming Germany. Anyway,I am also under the impression that Anthony Cline was buried in Oregon. His wife (Wealthy Ann Tibbles) died at the home of their daughter, Charlotte Stump, on 17 Sept., 1913 at Washougal, WA (unverified...family info gotten from a cousin). His marriage to Wealthy Ann Tibbles is dated after the date you mentioned. Could this be the same man? I am very anxious to hear from you! Thanks!
