We have a Cline/Sherk marriage in my cousins line. Her Sherk family was in Ont., and she and I both have Knisleys also in Ont., who also married Sherks in Ontario, about 5 times. Mennonites sound familiar in your family? that was our common link.
Her ancestor was George W Cline, who was b. MI-1822, brother to my Henry A Cline, b. MI-1832. We have only recently discovered this connection.
Our confusion starts at their parents; They think Frederick and Rhoda; and Henry's death cert. shows Benjamin Cline and Rhoda Franklin b. NY or Ver.
We know Geo. and Henry are sibs, because of a family quilt with all the names. Does anything seem familiar? Cousin says she has some Sherk info. Do you have any Knisley/Nicely in your line? Any Franklins? There's also Hoover in our family, in Ont.
Cousin has Catherine Shupe m. to Levi Sherk in Ont., but not much info there.
At Ont. Cem. Finding Aid online there are over 500 Clines buried in Ontario, some in Mennonite Cems.
Do you see any connection?
