Cousin Ed:Bessie Mae Helms married Floyd Raymond Cline in 1917 Bloomington,IN. (according to their courthouse records.)Her father was my great grandfather, Charles W.Helms Sr. who married her mother Gertha F.Shields in 1900.Bessie was born in May 1900.Gertha had passed away in 1911.Gertha isn't buried next to Chas.Helms Sr. in Rosehill cemetery, Bloomington,IN.Bessie Mae's siblings were Harrold Lynn Helms and Charles Wayne Helms Jr.1920 US Census shows Floyd Raymond Cline & Bessie Mae living in New Castle,IN. 1937 Social Security card shows him signing up for it inIndianapolis,IN. I have a copy of it I obtained through the freedom-of-information act.I'll send you a copy if you like. It gives Floyd R. Cline's parents' names on there too.Bessie's marriage to your father has not been verified. You can, as you undoubtedly know-get a photocopy of the marriage listing for them without getting a notorized copy of the marriage license. Expensive., just make sure you request a photocopy for genealogy purposes from the courthouse in Bloomington,IN. It'll probably cost only a $1.50.Best to check current prices for this. Address Clerk of the Court. Here's list of questions for your aunt.(1)Where is Aunt Bessie Mae Helms-Cline buried? (2)Is this your mother?(3)Where is Gertha F. Helms buried?(4)Who are your siblings? Public posting OK or email would be nice also. I have spent years looking for these relatives. My grandfather didn't keep in touch with family. Great to hear from you. Cousin Rod.
