Don't know if this will help, but I ran across quite a few George Cline entries in the abstracts of wills for NJ 1760-1815. I believe that and related Cline families resided in Greenwich Twn, Sussex Co NJ, which borders Orange Co NY. I've read that the NJ Clines were related to the Pennsylvania Clines. If this is a possible link to your George Cline, send me more detailed information and I will take a look for you next time I am at the New England Historic Genealogical Society (I live in Boston). Also, the NEHGS library has a Cline genealogy entitled "The Kline Clan" by Helen Kline et al that may be of interest if you haven't seen it yet.
