Robert..
one Nicholas Klein married Anna Maria Hruegar
on 4 April 1768.. another Nicholas Klein
married a woman named Margareth in December of 1768..at this time period there were at least two Klein families, apparently unrelated, in Frederick Co Maryland, at least three Kleins in PA, one in New Jersey, and one in New York.. the North Carolina Kleins may have been related to one or more of these groups, or none at all. its possible
that your nicholas is the nicholas who married AM Hruegar, which means we have a spelling problem..
it was common practise amoung the germans of pennsylvannia Maryland and Virginia and North Carolina to travel back and forth along an ancient road north and south.. the community
you refer to, is probably the Moravians, who settled in several places along that road.
your family stories about the three brothers is interesting. and parallels a possibility in my own family.. do you have any other details (names of the other brothers??)
