One problem with tracing my familiy's heritage is that we have a break in the chain. One of the first Cline's that we're aware of is Jacob Cline, who was an orphan. He was born around 1840 in Kentucky and fought for the Union in the Civil War. I would appreciate it if anyone could give some information or tips on how to research him.
