I am looking for the history of the Cline family.I am a Cline from Illinois. My grandfather was Miles Wallace Cline. He was the son of ? Cline and Julette Burdick who lived in Boone County, Illinois.I believe the family lines went back to PA.I also believe that my gggggrandfather fought in the Revolutionary War.The Clines/Kline/Kleins were from Germany and it is said they fled from France where they were named Petite.I know that there were several Cline/Klyne/Kline brothers who fought under General Washington at Valley Forge.According to the oral family history I have my gggggrandfather was one of these men.I do not know the first name.I do know that once I saw a family history sheet and the name Miles or Myles has been in the family since the 15th or 16th century.I would appreciate any information on the Cline/Kline family when they came to America and where they went following the Revoluntionary War.My branch of the family seemed to have gone north, settled perhaps briefly in Minnesota, then moved to settle in Boone county area of Illinois. If you have any information, I would appreciate.Thank you.
