It's been a while. I have some more info on this family. I believe we have found Joseph Clinard's grave at Woodlawn Cemetery in Tampa, Hillsborough Co, Fl. A clerk at the Cemetery Department has informed us that J. A. Clinard died 25 Sep 1900 and was buried 26 Sep 1900 in an unmarked grave in the old section of the cemetery. She said he was 27. (the 1900 census shows he was 36 and his birthday was in July, so he would have been 37 by September. I think there could have been a scrivener's error and the age should read 37.)

A 1902 Tampa City Directory had this: "Clinard, Fred, clk, O Falk & Bro, bds 901 Tampa (Street).... O Falk & Bro Dry goods, clothing, shoes, hats, millinery, etc" This person may be Eugenia's son, Fred Powell, as the family used the Clinard surname for him on the 1900 census.

Fred Powell is also found on the Washington Co, GA 1910 federal census, age 21, occupation minister of the gospel. Listed with his wife "Jinnit" age 21, and his mother "Eugenia" age 58 and widowed.
