I'm back from MI. I didn't find out anything earth shattering like who Davis Clinard Sr.'s parents were, but I did verify a couple of items. First, I checked the death records at Webster Library in Decatur. They have duplicates of the books kept at the courthouse. In record #18598 it states:
5/17/1930 Martha Jane Willis, Female, Widow, age 70 years, 5 months, 21 days, died of stomach cancer, born IN, parents ALFRED CLINARD and LUCINDA DRIVER. This verifies that Martha Jane Clinard was the daughter of Alfred Clinard and not Davis Clinard Sr as I had previously posted.
