This is the information I have
Your William was the eldest child of Joseph C and Sarah
Joseph was the second child of William C (b 1757) and Jane Eldridge
William C was the fourth child of William C (b 1727) and Ann Neville (this Williams' brother Samuel was my 5xgreatgrandfather)
Their parents were William C (b 1686) and Elizabeth Prince
William was the third child of John Clift and Ann - he was baptised in Silchester in 1653
Registers for Silchester only begin in 1653 and I believe that the family were well established in this village before moving to Bramley. I have a copy of the will of John Clyffe who died in Silchester in 1613.
