Mary Clift died at Broughton in 1820 at the age of 42. John Clift died at at the same village in 1843 aged 66. He was a gardener.
It seems likely that they both came from Wiltshire, but I've been unable to pin them down with any certainty. John may have been born at Norton Bavant near Warminster and south of Salisbury Plain - Mary at Wilsford Nr Pewsey, which is north of the Plain.
On the other hand, they might not have come from Wiltshire at all.
Any suggestions, anyone?
