From PA Gen. Mag.:
Will of Samuel CLIFTE of Bucks Co. PA, husbandsman, dated 23d 9 month, 1682 (signed with mark). Proved 5 mo. 2nd, 1683 Phila., PA by Richard NOBLE. Bequeathed lands, houses, & goods to son Jonathan CLIFT, also named executor.
Friends Christopher TAYLOR and Richard NOBLE apptd. trustees for Jonathan during hsi minority. Bequest to Joseph ENGLISH, son-in-law, of 30 acres where he has begun to build his house, from Wilne Creek to High Road. Witnesses: Rob't HEITON, Wm. UNICORNE, Stephen & Judith NOBLE, Richard DUNGWORTH.
Samuel Clift of Burlington, [NJ?] obtained grant of land from Sir Edmund Andros in 1680.
I understand Samuel's dau., Hannah CLIFT m. Joseph ENGLISH (the "younger"), & both d. c1725 Chester Co. PA.
Their son, William ENGLISH (c1675 - Jan. 1761 Burlington Co. NJ) was f. of Ann ENGLISH who m. James ELLISON 1758 Mansfield, NJ. James & Ann English Ellison rem. Monroe Co. [W]VA.
Is the Edward CLIFT who m. Mary POUTON (?) Dec. 20, 1730 Chester Co. PA a descendant of Samuel CLIFT?

Are Samuel's friends, Richard & Judith Noble, related to the Mary NOBLE who m. Joseph CLIFT Jan. 1740 in Talbot Co. MD?
