Hello Carol,

Please respond to me at my email addrees, tina_benitez@hotmail.com. I have some information that I can share with you. Hopefully you can help me and my grandmother put some pieces together as well, as she is a Clift from Marhamchurch. She moved to the States post WWII.

I was speaking to my grandmother who was telling me about her family in Marhamchurch. Her uncle was Samual Clift Her name is Margaret Marino (formerly Margaret Clift). Her father was James Clift and mother Anne Tonkin, whose family was in Plymouth. There are still Tonkins in Plymouth. I visited them not too long ago. My grandmother is the last Clift with us. Her brother, Eric Clift passed away two years ago...I am trying to find out more, so please share with me what you know as well.

My grandmother is looking at her birth certificate to get the year of birth of both her parents.

She told me one of her father's brothers moved to Texas, but we don't know his name. He came in the 1880s. It could be Samuel. Apparently his name is on several buildings in Texas.

We started talking about all of this because of what is currently going on down south.

I hope you get this message and get back to me soon. I am looking forward to speaking with you. Please let me know if you know of anyone else whom we can contact who is related to the Clifts as well. Thank You. This is very important to us.

Sincerely,
Tina
