This is all I have, I kind of gave up as there is so little for me to go on and there is no one left to ask in my family. J.D. Clift: He married Ailsey Morton at her fathers house (Joseph Morton) in 1854? This was in Bedford county, TN. They had children named Jane, William (my ggrandfather), Lou (a female, probably Louise), Sarah, and "Doc" (name not known, an artist who died unmarried in the Mississippi River Valley, I think in his 20's). They all (except Doc) moved to the area of Ash Flat, Ar. I don't have any information about Whether or not there was a "Clarence Charles Clift" born to J.D. Clift. Ailsey died giving birth to Sarah, and later J.D. Clift married Mary Reavis (born 1-12-1832, that's the name my family history gives, not sure if this is Rachel). J.D. and Mary had no children according to my family history, but the further I research this the more errors I see in names and dates, makes all this very hard to do. J.D. and children went in covered wagons from Bedford County, TN. in 1884 to Ash Flat, Ar. He then homesteaded 254 acres in Fulton County, Ar., just north of Ash Flat, in Sharp County, Ar.. William married Hattie Holderfield and had Mabel, Myrtle, Elbert, Cornelius William, Bertha Vivian, Tressie Thelma, Adele, and Marie. Elbert L. Clift married Maudie McClanahan and had Muriel, and Adrian (my father). William, Hattie, and Elbert L. are all buried in the old Babtist cemetary 2 miles outside Ash Flat, Ar.. In 1882 her Uncle Morgan Reavis went to Fulton Co Ark, and that is the first rec of his land deed... Mary Ann Reavis and John D. Clift married December 1869 in Bedford Co TN, they moved to Ark where she lived. Found an estate record for a Mary Fox, whom we think is she, because her bro Daniel was listed as executor of the estate. So she must have married again. The data was found in the Marshall Co. Gazette, Dec 17 1900. It is concerivable they all went together, including a number of the Reavis family. We for sure one line that went there, and lived there in Fulton co Ark for years.
