Thomas, I believe you have the ties correct. I do not know anything about Rhoda aftr her marriage to Samuel Trounant. However, I checked my data on her birth and came up with the following: 1)Mayflower Births and Deaths by Susan E. Roser published by Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. Vol 2 page 386 lists Rhoda as dtr of William Clift & Judith Church. Gives her baptism as 20 Apr 1746; d. 5 May 1838, ae 93. Underlying citation appears to be MD 13:132. MD=Mayflower Descendant 2)Mayflower Deeds & Probates by Susan E. Roser published by Genealogical Publishing Co., In. Abstracts the probate of William Clift, yeoman of Marshfield giving underlying reference to <Plymouth Co. PR #445>. Describes a decree dated 9 Dec 1761 mentioning widow and naming children including Church Clift and Rhoda. 3)Mayflower Descendant. My photocopy of this lists only August 1980 and page 131. It is a brief article on Baptisms by the Rev. Atherton Wales, 1739-1788 at Second Church of Christ at Marshfield. Rhoda's baptism is given as "Rhoda, dau. of Dea. William Clift, 20 Apr 1746. My guess is that this is the underlying article cited in the Mayflower Births and Deaths citation above. There were only two other Rhoda baptisms in Marshfield VR at about this time of which I am aware. Both were to Deacon William Clift's brother Samuel. In any event this/these Rhodas died young. This combined with the naming of a son "Church Clift Trouant" should be a pretty conclusive tie between the marriage and Rhoda's family of origin. I hope this helps. Please contact me by e mail if you would like to discuss further. Rgds, Bill Notify Administrator about this message?
