Samuel Clift

I am posting the message below for a friend in Austrailia in the hope that someone may be able to knock a few holes in her brickwall.

I am searching for parents/family of Samuel Clift, born C1793 in Oldbury, Warwick/Staffs, with father William. Mother's name unknown. Samuel was transported to Australia in 1818 aboard the "Neptune 1".
Nothing is known of his origins, except that he was a 'waterman', and was convicted at Northampton Assizes in July 1817 for "knowingly having forged a one pound note", and sentenced to 14 years in the Colony.
His children's name's are: Elizabeth, William, Joseph, Ann, James, Mary Ann, Samuel, John, Sarah Elizabeth M, and George.
I would appreciate any leads on these people. Thank you.
Brian Clift on behalf of Ænone McRae-Clift
