I am researching the descendants of William Clift of Marshfield, Plymouth MA (d. 1722). This does not include the line of his purported son, Joseph who moved to Maryland and appears to have been the progenitor of many of the Southern Clifts. A number of my lines of descent disappear after 1850 with westward migrations. I would be happy to correspond with anyone interested in this line and anyone interested in discussing the controversy over Joseph's tie to the Marshfield Clifts
