My understanding is that Wm. & Lydia WILLS CLIFT (m. 1691 Scituate, MA) had 5 ch., incl. Samuel CLIFT (Oct. 22, 1709 - Aug. 22, 1794 Marshfield, MA) m. Lydia DOGGETT.
Samuel & Lydia's 11 ch. incl.
Joseph CLIFT (Sept. 1750 Preston, CT - May 9, 1829 Onondaga, NY) m. Elizabeth WALTON (b. July 19, 1751).
Joseph & Elizabeth's 6 ch. incl. Joseph CLIFT (Sept. 20, 1776 - May or June 25, 1855 Onondaga Hill, NY) m. Abigail Annabel //. His obit states he d. suddenly, "probably apoplexy," & leaves an "aged companion" and several sons & daughters.
Joseph & Abigail's 11 ch. incl. Lemuel CLIFT (Oct. 12, 1804 - Aug. 9, 1894) m. c1840 Hannah Maria FORMAN (July 13, 1816 - Dec. 22, 1895), dau/Deacon Joseph FORMAN.
Lemuel & Hannah had 3 ch.:
Joseph Forman CLIFT (b. Sept. 2, 1841);
Eliza M. CLIFT (b. Feb. 28, 1844);
Frank Davis (Davies?) CLIFT (b. May 15, 1852).
Joseph Forman CLIFT had 3 wives:
(1) Caroline GARFIELD m. Nov. 24, 1864, who d. April 9, 1874 leaving 5 ch. -- Gertrude Eliza CLIFT b. Feb. 10, 1866; Irving Daniel CLIFT b. Sept. 14, 1867; Jesse Forman CLIFT b. Sept. 1869; Caroline Augusta CLIFT b. Dec. 20, 1872;
& a girl who d. 6 mos. after her mother.
(2) Louisa // m. July 29, 1877; they had Grace CLIFT, & Louisa divorced Joseph Sept. 1884.
(3) Sarah H. Reede m. July 4, 1885.
Frank Davis CLIFT m. June 11, 1884 Syracuse, NY Sarah Augusta "Gussie" STEVENS (b. Mar. 23, 1863).
Frank D. CLIFT's obit states he was a retired Syracuse NY real estate broker & long had diabetes; survived by wife, son Frank S. CLIFT res. Zanesville, OH, daughter Mrs. Margaret SIMMONS, & a gd. I have no date on the obit, sorry! Not my line, but thought to pass it on.
