Paul,

I am descended from Hensley Clift of Mason County Kentucky. I have gleaned a lot of Clift information from the Genforum site for Mason County, KY at:

http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ky/Mason

If you do a search of the query forum, you should come up with some very good starting points.

Regarding the Clifts of kentucky, there were several branches that settled there. Hensley, my ancestor, was the youngest son of Benjamin Clift who came to Kentucky in the late 1700's from Virginia. But other Clifts abound who may or may not be related to that branch.

There was a book written (in draft from only) by Glenn Clift. It was never finished because Mr. Clift died shortly after cirulating the draft for review. It is, at best, a good start, but it omitted many Clift lines, including Hensley's
