I found this name on a passenger manifest for the General Greene, sailing from Cork to Boston in approx 1847.The timing was right for my gggrandfather, who ended up in Oconto County, Wisconsin. He was followed in 1856 by his son, Michael, who first went to Oconto County, then in 1870 homesteaded in Blue Earth County, Minnesota (Mapleton, Sterling Township. He married Mary McGovern in approximately 1875.She and her family came to Oconto County from Mewfoundland or Nova Scotia.Originally from Ireland as well.
This was a more promising lead in a series of dead ends....got no where.Anyone knowing of Patrick or Michael Clifford of Oconto County, Wisconsin or Blue Earth County, Minnesota, is invited to reply.I'm totally dead ended.
