Dr. George Cliff/late1800's/Mortlach,CAN
I'm looking to find more information on my mother's side of the family--she's a Cliff. The farthest back I can trace is only to my great-grandfather, Dr. George Cliff, married to Alma.Dr. Cliff had a sister, Gladys-the town schoolteacher, and all three lived in a small town called Mortlach--somewhere in Canada. There is also a family legend that our Cliff family was somehow related to General Sir Issac Brock, the Englishman who saved Canada from the US in the War of 1812!!Has anyone ever heard this legend? Is it true?Any help on this or on tracing my anscetors before Dr. George Cliff would be appreciated. Thanks, Debbie
