I appreciated the additional information about the Clewis family in France and elsewhere from Barbara King. I'm always glad to see surname variations and migration patterns and with this family there seems to be an abundance of both!

We're not in complete disagreement - the Clewis surname is usually credited to that part of England, but originated in France, as were other variations I've researched. My conclusions for the other surname variations were based on DNA testing, family records, historical information, heraldry and genealogical references as well as other information.

I'm looking forward to having Clewis DNA results to compare with the others so we can conclusively identify family connections.
