MY fourth great-grandfather was Richard Clewis, born in NC about 1800. He married Mary Ivy in 1821 in Robeson Co., NC. I have no idea who his parents were, so I always look at anything related to Clewis and NC or GA.

Someone on the Rootsweb Clewis forum snail mailed me a copy of the article that had been transcribed. Several people were interested in it, but it was a hard copy only and I wanted to share it. Instead of just typing it, I ordered the microfilm of the article, so I would be sure I had it right. I transcribed it from the microfilm.

I offered it to the US genweb person for the nearest county to that area, but they never responded. I went on to something else and forgot about it. I found it recently when I was going through old backups and posted it here and on Rootsweb.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Barbara
