The parents of Reuben Cleveland were Jacob and Mildred (Milly) White Cleveland. Her parents were Jeremiah White and Mary Martin. Jacob bought land in Albemarle Co VA in 1755, married in 1756,They were both members of the Albemarle Baptist Church, per church records, therefore according to my research Reuben was born in St Ann's Parish, on the north branch of the Hardware River, Albemarle Co VA. John, his brother, born 1769 is my ancestor. The parents of Jacob Cleveland are unknown at this time. The only Cleveland source known of, the , 1899 Cleveland Genealogies are incorrect on several of these southern or VA lines. Reuben and Mary lived and died in Elbert Co GA. I have a 90 year old cousin, Fred Cleveland, who comes from Reuben, who is still very alert and had a very good memory of "the ole days" and people.
