Am researching my gggg-grandmother, Sarah Cleveland born [know not where] about 1760-1761, according to Census Records of Spanish West Florida Territory [formerly Louisiana Territory] and what became Washington County, Alabama.

Sarah Cleveland married Thomas Bassett, Jr. [V] b. c1758, Richmond County, GA. Thomas Bassett, Jr. [V] was the son of Thomas Bassett [IV] married to Lucy? and was murdered by Indians on Bassetts Creek near the Tombigbee River in c1781/1782. The Bassetts had emigrated to Georgia from Virginia.

Thomas Bassett, Jr. [V] and Sarah Cleveland were married c.1785-1790 and had the following surviving children: Lucretia Bassett m. James Dearman, Barbara Bassett m. (Maj.) Robert Leroy Bowling of Georgia, Lucinda Bassett m. John Richardson b.c1784 Georgia, Mary Bassett m. Cornelius Sullivan b. c1798 Georgia of Washington County, Mississippi Territory, Thomas Jefferson Bassett and Francis S. Bassett m. Elmina V. Woodyard of Washington County, Mississippi Territory. The majority of their descendents resided in Washington County, Alabama.

As I find no record of any Clevelands in the Census records of the era, have no idea where Sarah Cleveland was born.

Appreciate any information.
