Hi Carolyn - Thank you for the quick reply!! I guess the whole thing about Jemima is whether Mary Graves is her birth mother or not?? I think the DAR/SAR is now accepting Mary as her mother. I really DO NOT know much about whether poor Jemima was born to Col.Ben Cleveland and a Cherokee Indian
mistress?? I have not seen any proof of that. Maybe, this is just all speculation!! If Jemima's mother was a fullblood
Cherokee - then Jemima would be 1/2 Cherokee - but who knows,
and there would have to be compelling evidence to prove it.
