Hi Judy - I am so glad to hear from you! Horatio and Cynthia Cleveland had quite a number of children so I imagine there are a number of family members across the country. I was hoping to hear from some of them - so I thank you for replying. I would very much like to have any information you would like to share about the Texas Cleveland family and I would be happy to share what I have here, too. As you mentioned, there is a lot of second hand information about the Cleveland family. I was able to get a copy of Charles Josiah Cleveland's obituary and it was very informative. It indicated that when the family moved to Texas, the father and some of the older sons "did good service in the war with Mexico." But Charles, not liking the southern climate returned to Wisconsin where he became a raft pilot on the Wisconsin River and afterwards on the Black river. This was information that we had not heard at all. My husband's great grandmother was Lillian C. Cleveland, daughter of Charles Josiah Cleveland. You can e-mail me for further information at albnthur@hbci.com. Again, good to hear from you and look forward to corresponding with you about the Cleveland family. Bonnie
