Dear Brennan: Many tnx. spllng variations are nothing unusual in all Fre-Cdn families. Priests were often only people who could write. They didn't have to be drunk, just insistent. My own father(Navan, Ont.) had 13 brothers and sisters. Two of them had their names spelled Clairoux by the priests. They lived with it all their lives. Often when first cousins married the priests deliberately changed the spellings so they wouldn't appear so closely related. I am interested in your own links. Can you send them to me? Your dad, mom, dates etc. Eventually I will have a great history to send you, names as well as stories about the family.
tnx again. Richard Cleroux.
