Looking for any information regarding Sarah, born 1820 probably Allegheny Co., Pa. Married to John Hanson 1840. They are parents of Margaret, William, James, Jesse, Theodore, Julia.

1860 census shows the family intact in Butler, Pa. 1870 census shows Jesse, Theodore, Julia located in the Soldiers Orphan School at Phillipsburg. William in Cumberland, Md.

Recently found a Civil War enrollment card that states:
John Hanson age 51 (correct age) died 6/8/62 in Virginia in battle. Remarks say: Wd. 5-31-62. Does this relate to Sarah (perhaps her dead)? And an explanation why the children are in an orphan school.

I do not have any info on Sarah's parents or John Hanson's parents. The youngest child Julia born Feb. 1862 is my
great-grandmother.

Any leads appreciated.
