I found a William Glendining and Rose Ann Kirkpatrick from Dumfrieshire, Scotland

Son was Charles Clendenin who founded Charleston, WV, married Mary Ann Patterson in 1735

He had 2 other brothers..
James
John b: 1704 in Scotland d: April 1796, married Janet Huston 1753-1782
