My husband is not direct descendent to this James but he is possiblity a direct descendent to Charles Clendenin, James Clendenin's father. James's brother Alexander was father of Charles Clendenin of Jackson County. WV who we believe was Our James A. Clendenin's father. It is not proven at this point but there are strong eventence that lists our James A. living on the same land as Charles, William M. and Lucy Clendenin. All though if you see the census of 1850 there is a Joseph Clendenin listed as living next to William M. Clendenin. We know the children of Joseph listed were the same as our James A. and Rebecca Lewis Clendenin's children. So James and Joseph are the same person.
I do have the list of your James Clendenin's Children even though we are not direct decscendents to him. James was Uncle to Charles Clendenin of Jackson county, WV. Therefore James A. Clendenin was nephew of your James.

He married MARGARET ANDERSON Bef. 1761, daughter of WILLIAM ANDERSON and MARGARET REID. She was born April 10, 1743, and died 1805 in Garrand Co., KY.
