Have you seen the pension application of Godfrey Clemmons based on his service in 1837 in the Florida Seminole Indian War? In the application he says he was born in Barnwell SC. He married Mima Petty 10 May, 1845 in Gordon, AL. He claimed to have lived in Thomas Co, GA; Tallahassee, FL; Live Oak, FL; South FL and near Chipley, FL. I found him also in the 1850 census in AL as well as the 1900 census in Chipley, FL. It is the same person in these census's but his age on the census forms is all over the map. He claimed in his application to be 109 years old. The reason I am curious of this person is it seems he took the same route to Henry Co, AL at about the same time as my ancestor Henry Allen. Can you shed any light on this person?
