The jpg image of a page of the 1850 Springhill Twp, Fayette Co., PA census lists my ggg grandfather, George Boord (40?) – a farmer, wife, Susan (Bowers) (49?), Joseph (18), July A (15), Rebecca (12), James (11), Jacob (9), Charity (4), and Nancy Monroe (8).

James is my gg grandfather.

We are still researching the parents of George. In the late 1970’s, my grandfather met with David Astley Boord in PA and they documented the descendants of James and Mary Colebank Boord. My grandfather listed the parents of James as “Thomas” and Susannah (Bowers) Boord. Susannah Bowers Boord’s obituary makes note of her husband, George, dying about 1850. So, we don't know if Thomas was his middle name or first name.

Susannah was living with her daughter, Charity and her husband, Jasper Clemmer, in the 1870 Springhill Twp, Fayette Co., PA census and died in their home in 1900. Have copy of her will from Fayette Co.

Sandie
