My 3ggfa, Robert SHEARMAN/SHARMAN b. abt 1734, Halifax Co., VA? or Bertie Co., NC m. Catherine IRVINE (James), b. abt 1743, Lunenburg Co., VA. Their son, CLEMENT SHARMAN, b. 1779-1780, d. abt 1848, Chambers Co., GA (later became AL) m.24 Dec 1807, Wilkes Co., GA Janett WILKINSON, b. 18 Apr 1790, GA.

My ggfa, James SHARMAN, b. 30 Mar 1813, Jasper Co., GA m. Elizabeth Victoria McMICHAEL, 12 Sept 1817, Jasper Co., GA named one of their sons, James CLEMENT SHARMAN, b. 24 Feb 1841, Russell Co., AL m. Isabella Amila STEVENS, 19 Mar 1847.

I was given Robert SHARMAN and Lucy CLEMENT as my 4th ggparents (unproven) over 30 yrs ago by relative now passed. Others close relatives have same without, also without proof. As you may know this Robert and Lucy shown as SHARMAN and SHERMAN lived in ORANGE Co. and CULPEPPER Co., VA. I was also informed that he was a teacher in Bertie Co., NC. Robert SHARMAN m. Catherine was a Trustee as HEBRON Academy in GLADSVILLE (?) as stated by a relative.

I have stated in other locations online that Robert SHARMAN, b. 1734 d. 1813 was referenced in Virginia Land BOUNTY WARRANTS, "Robert SHEARMAN, Warrant #623-p.66 200 acres, Rank Fife Major Va. Cont. Line-Term 3 yrs. Date 5-23-1783"

This was my 3rdggfa. I believe he was connected with Robert and Lucy Clement SHARMAN. parents of Martha HEAD. I also believe he was related to other SHEARMAN's on record in mid-late 1600's beginnining with QUINTILLIAN SHEARMAN, then MARTIN, and JOHN.

Any thoughts or bits to complete this puzzle shall be appreciated.

Best regards,

John
