Clement/Little Connection early 1800s SC

My Ggrandfather was Dr. William Clement Duckworth. His parents were Welborn Duckworth and Mary Little. Mary is the one and only person in any of my lines that I have no information at all. I have always believed the middle name, "Clement", had to come from someone's maiden name, as was common back then. I have about come to the conclusion that Mary may have been a Clement before she married a Little, and Welborn was her 2nd husband. I do know that she was Welborn's 2nd wife. My Ggrandfather was born Nov. 14, 1849. Welborn was born in Anderson County(old Pendelton Dist.) SC, but later lived and died in Union County, SC. All his records are there, and so were lots of the Little records. I know they did not pick the name Clement out of the blue, and since there are no Clement connections to any of my other lines, it had to be connected to Mary. I have most of my other lines back to the 1600's, and this Mary is the only one I can't find anything on. If anyone could shed some light on this, I sure would appreciate your input.
Thanks!
Dorothy
