Beverly,Sorry taken so long to answer.My GrGrandpa was William Robert Clement.Cocke County Tenn is right as you go out of NC on I-40 into Tenn.Newport is the County seat.At that time there was a pile of Clement families in the area.GRgrandpa was born on Oct 19 1875 d.May 12 1943 in Spartanburg SC.He married Darthulia Morris March 11 1898(I have a copy of the license)They had 5 children---Juanita,Mary,Jessie(grandma),Cecil&,Pearce called Red.They moved to Columbus NC and then Spartanburg SC.By the time they moved to Spartanburg I believe Mary and Pearce must have been married or grown because they stayed in Columbus NC(on the SC -NC border on I-26.Let me know if this helps any.Linda E.Tesenair
