I found the source. It is The History of Pittsylvania County by Maud E Clement. The entire book is on the internet. Go to http://Ancestry.com and subscribe. Type in Adam Clement, and the state of Virginia for any year, and the book comes up. It talks all about Adam clement who died going to the goldrush in california
