Hi Virginia,
I am working with a friend that has been told he descends from this
Gregory Clement 'regicide'.
My interest also is that I have an ancestor 'uncle' Daniel Axtell, who
was also executed in Oct 1660 for regicide. Daniel's sister Anne is my direct ancestor. Daniel commanded the guards during the King's execution.

I am new with the Clement family and would appreciate if you would get in
touch with me, or any one connected with this Gregory and his father John,
Mayor of Plymouth 1615.

There is a rumour, ( if proved I am not sure ??? ) that Mark Twain claimed descent from Gregory too.

yours,
