If your research takes you back to Washington Co., PA, there were 2 Clemens lines there. One, James, is English and leads downstream to Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain). The other one, Adam, is German and he is mine. Both have decendants everywhere. Elizabeth was a common name in my line, too. To be told you are related to Mark Twain is common. I heard that for years, but it's not true. Good luck finding Elizabeth.
